Summer is almost over, but we still have a few more months to be outdoors for fun activities. I hope you are planning to join the bike ride to Ledgestone on Wednesday, August 5, by cycling or driving to Ledgestone to have fun with a good beverage while visiting old friends and making new ones.
This is the time of the year that we have been announcing our trip costs. In several cases, we have had trip sign-up begin before September. This year, we will have a more traditional sign-up in October.
The Trip committee, and especially trip leaders, have been working through details for western trips on Feb. 6 to 10 to Ogden Utah (Snowbasin) and our trip to Whitefish Montana, March 6 to 13. Each of these trips will be affordable for members of our clubs. Whitefish will include travel using Amtrack directly to Whitefish Montana, with an option to fly. Amtrack is significantly less expensive and is an opportunity to visit with members, play cards, and watch the scenery, especially North Dakota’s wildlife and Glacier Park.
We also intend to have a weekend trip to ski Snow River. Many of us have passes from Granite Peak and Snow River also accepts the Ikon pass. Adam Hanson will set up a block of rooms at a hotel and we will drive ourselves. We will have more information in this regard in a couple months.
The next Board business meeting will be at The Woods on August 11th, starting at 6 pm. As always, the Board meetings are open to members.
Finally, it is time to look forward to our Fall Banquet on October 1st. Please sign up and put it on your calendar right now. The information is in the newsletter. Early signups help the board to plan the meals more effectively.
Enjoy summer, Winter is Coming!!!
