President's Message for February 2015

Julie's Jive

When the weather man said that winter was half over last week, I just about cried in my coffee—where does the time go?!  Since we need to submit articles to our Newsletter Editor by the 20th of each month, I have a lot to report on from the past weeks.  The Woods put out great hors d’oeuvres for our Christmas Party on December 23rd.  Plates of stuffed mushrooms, cheese and crackers, vegetables and dip were served, along with beer and wine.  This was also our Pre-trip meeting for both the Marquette Day Trip and our four day trip to Lutsen.

The Marquette Day trip was a success with Mike Bast and Megan Pasterski leading the group.  Skiing at Lutsen was wonderful until a cold front (a VERY cold front) moved in.  Jeanine Bosdech and her daughter, Brooke Baumgarten, our trip leaders for Lutsen, had to give us the bad news that our skiing trip to Spirit Mountain, scheduled for Sunday, on our way home, was cancelled due to frigid temperatures.  We made the best of it by tuning into the radio to listen to the football games on our way home.

Dick is in the throws of making all the arrangements for our next trip scheduled to South Lake Tahoe.  We still have seats open for the Boyne trip, so please sign up as soon as you can.   As an FYI, please note that our website will be down each Wednesday morning from 6:30 am to 7:00 am for maintenance.  Also, if you won two lift tickets to Marquette at our Fall Banquet and have not contacted Brian Fowle yet, please get in touch with him either by phone: 920-217-8282 or email:  historian@ gelandesprung.org.
